Platform terms

ACH Platform Terms

ACH helps communities organise digitally. Every person still has a responsibility to understand the people, group and commitments they choose to participate with.

In short

  • ACH is digital infrastructure for organising community savings groups.
  • ACH does not automatically take custody of group funds and does not guarantee contributions or payouts.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for how you take part in your group.
  • The current pilot is small and supervised, and may change while we learn with real groups.
What ACH is
  • ACH — Africa Community Hub — provides digital infrastructure for managing and organising community savings groups such as Ajo, Esusu, Thrift, ROSCAs and cooperative savings communities.
  • ACH records group structure, membership, savings cycles, contribution obligations, member declarations, coordinator verification and history.
  • Groups continue to contribute using whatever real-world arrangements they already trust, outside ACH.
What ACH does not do
  • ACH does not automatically take custody of group funds. It does not receive, hold, pool, transfer or distribute money.
  • ACH does not guarantee contributions, payouts, member honesty, coordinator conduct or group outcomes.
  • ACH is not responsible for private arrangements made independently by group participants, except where ACH lawfully has a specific responsibility.
  • ACH is not a bank, investment scheme, fund manager or guarantor of anyone's behaviour.
Your responsibilities
  • Provide accurate information about yourself and your group, and keep it up to date.
  • Comply with applicable laws and with ACH platform requirements.
  • Do not use ACH for fraudulent, unlawful or abusive activity.
  • Treat other members of your group and of the ACH community with respect.
Security, compliance and identity
  • ACH may suspend, restrict or investigate accounts or groups where there are reasonable security, fraud, compliance or platform integrity concerns.
  • ACH may require identity verification (KYC), and users may be asked to provide supporting information.
  • Anti-money-laundering and financial crime controls may apply, and ACH may be required to cooperate with lawful requests.
Changes and the pilot
  • ACH may update these terms and require acceptance of a materially updated version before you continue.
  • The current pilot is supervised and limited. ACH may modify, pause or discontinue pilot functionality where necessary.
  • Previous acceptances are preserved as history; a new version is recorded as a new acceptance.
