For members

Member Terms & Responsibilities

You are joining a real community savings group. ACH provides the digital infrastructure — the people, trust and commitments are still yours to judge.

In short

  • Joining a group is voluntary and is your own decision.
  • Do your own reasonable checks on the group, its coordinator and its members.
  • Give truthful information and keep to the commitments you make.
  • ACH records contributions; it does not hold or move money and cannot guarantee other people.
Joining a group
  • You are voluntarily joining a particular community or group; nobody is placed in a group by ACH.
  • You are responsible for conducting reasonable personal due diligence before joining or participating.
  • Take time to understand the group, its coordinator and its members before making financial commitments.
Information and identity
  • Provide truthful information about yourself.
  • You may be asked to complete identity verification (KYC) where ACH is required to run it.
  • Do not use ACH for fraud, money laundering or any unlawful activity.
Your group and your coordinator
  • Your coordinator has an administrative role inside your group's ACH workflow: inviting members, managing membership status, configuring savings cycles, opening contribution periods and verifying declarations.
  • Verification in ACH means the coordinator has confirmed a record. It is not a payment, receipt or guarantee by ACH.
  • ACH does not guarantee the honesty, financial behaviour or performance of other members.
Risks and responsibility
  • Participation in a community savings arrangement may involve risks arising from human behaviour, agreements and group circumstances.
  • ACH is digital infrastructure. It does not receive, hold, pool, transfer or distribute your money.
  • You remain responsible for your own actions, representations and obligations within the group.
  • You must comply with ACH platform rules and applicable requirements.
Your acknowledgement
  • By joining a group on ACH you confirm that you have read these responsibilities, that you are responsible for your own participation and decisions within the group, and that you understand ACH does not guarantee the behaviour or financial obligations of other group members.
